Week 1: Spanish Courtyard In-Engine Modeling - I made a building mesh kit using Unreal 5's modeling & UV tools. I also made use of Blueprints.
Week 2: Exterior Lighting - This week, I was able to use a pre-made level (City of Brass) and take it from default lighting to beautiful morning and nighttime lighting. I learned about lighting composition, and ways to tint the light & temperature without actually changing the "color" option of the light.
Week 3: Procedural Landscaping - I used the UE5 water system to make an ocean and a lake, and then procedural landscape tools to create an island. Texturing was done using a basic layered landscape material. Clutter (plants, rocks) applied using the foliage tool.
Week 4: Niagara Particles - Finally, I got to learn how to further use Niagara in UE5. Using this knowledge, I created a fire particle system from scratch, which included smoke, fire, and embers. I also modified the fire system to create a smaller light for the candle.
CREDITS: Megascans from Quixel Bridge were used for the props, foliage, materials, and decals for weeks 1, 3, and 4. Week 2 the level City of Brass from Uppercut Games.
